One of the friends I made while attending Electrical Engineering school at Tulsa University in the 1970's was an attractive young Iranian woman with dark hair. Julia Utley reminds me of her. Doing some research for this article I may have stumbled upon the reason why. Julia's Facebook page indicates she is from Tehran, Iran. Of course Julia is much younger than my friend would be today. But, at the time, the age of that young Iranian woman would have been about the same as Julia is now. According to what you read in the press, life is much different in Tehran these days than it would have been at the time I met that beautiful young Iranian woman in college. It would be interesting to get Julia's input on the matter. Julia is the true professional. She graduated part of the Oklahoma University Aerospace Engineering Class of 1992 and works at Francis Tuttle Technology Center. She is a charter (2007) member of the Speak Up Toastmasters club that meets there on Wednesdays at 11:05am. She is the current CVPE and SAA. Julia is close to having her DTM with her ACS and ALB. Recently she led the opening prayer and pledge at the June 21, 2014 TLI. Julia Utley is my June 23, 2014 'Toastmaster of the Day'. |
