From my year (2010/2011) as Division T Governor I remember Stan Beck participating in speech contests. I've seen him in club contests in Bartlesville and Area contests in Tulsa and Bartlesville. This year, although not competing, he was at the Owasso library attending a speech contest supporting another contestants. TI shows he joined February 1, 1994. District 16 records show him being 1999-2000 Outstanding Area Governor with Glenda Kilmer, Tom Bach's year as District Governor. It appears that the district at one time may have entertained the idea of having two Outstanding Area Governors, one from OKC and one from Tulsa. It lasted two years. Stan is a member of two clubs, Phillips 66 and Claremore. He is both President and VPE of Claremore. Both are really old clubs. Claremore chartered in 1975, Phillips in 1969. The Claremore club has been struggling the past couple of years. Attempting to gain some members Area Governor Pam Martin started a Speechcraft and I was invited. Stan Beck was conducting the session. They had two visitors. I attended Phillips 66 club a month ago in Bartlesville. Stan Bech (1994), along with Regina Diamond (2007), Denise Bates (2006) and Melissa Winkler (2008) are long time members; Stan the longest with more than 20 years in Toastmasters. Stan has his DTM and remains an active participant in many areas of Toastmasters. The District 16 leadership team appreciates his contribution.
