As Electrical Engineer at the Armco Steel Mill and later Sheffield Steel in Sand Springs, I spent many hours on weekends and at night watching the mill run: the red hot rebar whizzing by, being cut to length, screeching to a halt and being shuffled across the cooling bed. I watched the cooled bars being bundled and tied and loaded on semis. I kept telling myself I enjoyed just being there. But thinking back on it, I may have been worried that something would break and no one would be able to fix it. When you design something, it's your baby. HelpPoint Toastmasters chartered January 14, 2005. Jodi Santangelo was District Governor, Dan Brown was LGET and Arlene Shore was LGM. The club is 9 years old. As LGM, chartering a club might be similar to an electrical engineer designing a computer program to control a piece of equipment. When Arlene Shore reads this, will her thoughts go back to the Charter Party for HelpPoint and reminisce that moment. Did she worry the club might fail on her watch and what she would do to rescue it. Did she cuddle it like a baby, worried that it might fail on her watch. Dawn McPhetridge Joined HelpPoint Toastmasters August 1, 2011. She is the club President of record. She has a tiger by the tail because HelpPoint has been floundering of late. They have been late paying; they caught up but are behind again. The club's members may be at their wits end, or the club may be at the end of its rope. Area Governor Brenda Perry visited the club recently. She talked to Dawn and senses the club will pay. We have until June 30. The decision President Dawn McPhetridge and the HelpPoint club make along with the corporate heads might be the difference in District 16 being distinguished or not. Someone has to stand up to the plate. Will that person be Dawn McPhetridge? Does she have the burning desire to (not) let that club fail on her watch?
