Cassandra Northington joined Toastmasters on December 1, 1994. She moved to Okmulgee, Oklahoma from San Diego, California and has helped to sustain the Okmulgee Orators since the club was chartered six years ago. She was the 2011-2012 District 16 area governor, past Orators club president and is the current CVPE. She had her DTM. She has recruited interested toastmasters from her club and the surrounding area to conduct Youth Leadership projects in the Okmulgee high school system. She is a charter member of the new advanced club Varsity and regularly attends officer training and speech contests. I don't think I've seen a Toastmaster run a speech contest any smoother than she did on Saturday March 1. Every segment of the Varsity meeting was on time. At timely junctures she inserted plugs rallying the Club to its elite status, and added humor that kept the interest high all though the contest. She is the bedrock for the orators and a beacon for the toastmasters program wherever she goes. Cassandra Northington is my March 5, 2014 'Toastmaster of the Day'. |
